How to use
Staxyn® is taken orally, 10 - 30 minutes before sexual activity. It should not be taken more often than once every 24 hours. Ensure that your hands are totally dry before placing a dissolvable Staxyn® tablet on your tongue. Wait a couple of seconds until it has dissolved and then swallow it. It is recommended not to consume any liquid after it has dissolved to ensure the effectiveness of the tablet. Staxyn® can only help achieve an erection when sexual stimulation occurs. An erection will not occur just by taking a pill.
Overdose
Potential overdose symptoms of Staxyn® may include:
Back pain
Muscle pain
Vision problems
If you suspect an overdose of Staxyn®, seek emergency medical attention or contact your local poison control center.
Missed dose
Staxyn®is only taken when needed, so you are unlikely to miss a dose.
Notes
Do not share Staxyn® with others, since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by this medication.
Use of this medication does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (e.g. HIV, Hepatitis B, Gonorrhea, Syphilis).

Before using Staxyn®, inform your pharmacist or doctor of your medical history, including allergies and medical conditions.
If you have any of these conditions, you may need a Staxyn® dose adjustment or special tests:
Heart disease or heart rhythm problems
A recent history (in the past 6 months) of a heart attack, angina (chest pain), or congestive heart failure
A recent history of stroke or blood clots
A personal or family history of "Long QT syndrome"
High or low blood pressure
Liver or kidney diseases (or if you are on dialysis)
A blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia
A bleeding disorder such as hemophilia
A stomach ulcer
Retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye)
A physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease)
If you have been told you should not have sexual intercourse for health reasons
Although Staxyn® is not for use in women, this medication is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. However, it is not known if Staxyn® passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. You may need a lower dose of this medication if you are older than 65. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Drug interactions
Do not take Staxyn® if you are also taking:
Alpha blockers such as alfuzosin (Uroxatral), doxazosin (Cardura), prazosin (Minipress), tamsulosin (Flomax), and terazosin (Hytrin)
Nitrates such as isosorbide dinitrate (Isordril, Sorbitrate), isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO), and nitroglycerin (Nitro-BID, Nitro-Dur, Nitroquick, Nitrostat, others).
Nitrates come as tablets, sublingual (under the tongue) tablets, sprays, patches, pastes, and ointments. Ask your doctor if you are not sure if any of your medications contain nitrates or you use street drugs containing nitrates such as amyl nitrate and butyl nitrate ('poppers') while taking vardenafil.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Be sure to mention any of the following:
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Antifungals such as fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), and ketoconazole (Nizoral)
Clarithromycin (Biaxin)
Cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune)
Danazol (Danocrine)
Delaviradine (Rescriptor)
Diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor, Tiazac)
Disopyramide (Norpace)
Erythromycin (E.E.S. , E-Mycin, Erythrocin)
Fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem)
Fluvoxamine (Luvox)
HIV protease inhibitors such as indinavir (Crixivan) and ritonavir (Norvir)
Isoniazid (INH, Nydrazid)
Medications for high blood pressure or irregular heartbeat
Metronidazole (Flagyl)
Other medications or treatments for erectile dysfunction
Nefazodone (Serzone)
Paroxetine (Paxil)
Procainamide (Procanbid, Pronestyl)
Quinidine (Quinidex)
Sotalol (Betapace)
Troleandomycin (TAO)
Verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan)
Zafirlukast (Accolate).
Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
Stop using Staxyn® and get emergency medical help if you experience a sudden loss of vision.
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction:
Hives
Difficulty breathing
Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.
Call your doctor right away if you experience any of the following serious side effects of Staxyn® during sexual activity:
Dizziness or nausea
Pain, numbness, or tingling in the chest, arms, neck, or jaw
Equally call your doctor immediately and stop using Staxyn® if you experience any of the following serious side effects:
Vision changes or sudden loss of vision
Ringing in your ears or sudden loss of hearing
Chest pain or heavy feeling or pain spreading to the arm or shoulder
Nausea, sweating, generally feeling ill
Irregular heartbeat
Swelling of the hands, ankles or feet
Shortness of breath
Feeling light-headed or faint
Erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer
Seizures (convulsions)
Less serious side effects may include:
Warmth or redness in the face, neck, or chest
Stuffy nose
Headache
Memory problems
Upset stomach
Back pain

What are the differences between Levitra and Staxyn?
Whilst both Levitra® and Staxyn® both have the active ingredient Vardenafil, and are both powerful treatments for ED, Staxyn® is a dissolvable tablet which means it can be taken discreetly. Due to the fact that it dissolves in seconds on your tongue, it also has a faster effect than regular Levitra®. Staxyn® is also only available in 10mg, whilst Levitra® is available in three small doses: 5, 10 and 20 mg.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Staxyn?

What happens if I miss a dose?
Staxyn® is only taken when needed, so nothing will happen if you miss a dose.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Staxyn?
Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Staxyn®, so patients are advised not to drink excessive amounts of alcohol while taking this medication. However it is not advised to drink any liquids after taking the Staxyn®, as this may compromise the effectiveness of the medication.
What else should I avoid while taking Staxyn?
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with Staxyn®. Discuss the use of grapefruit products with your doctor. Do not increase or decrease the amount of grapefruit products in your diet without first talking to your doctor.
Do not use any other medication to treat impotence, such as Alprostadil (Caverject, Muse, Edex) or Yohimbine (Yocon, Yodoxin, others), unless your doctor tells you to.
